The clash of the Hackathonians: The day teams collaborated, developers coded and innovation triumphed!!!

IBM Bluemix Hackathon, a joint product development competition between Hexaware & IBM for Hexaware employees conducted in December, 2016, was a worthwhile experience. With 49 technology enthusiasts from multiple locations spanning Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai & Pune participating in full spirit, we saw some really interesting ideas, engrossing brainstorming sessions and healthy competition. Participants presented their ideas around the themes of Data Visualization, Product Idea, Automation, Productivity Improvement & Cognitive Chat bots. While there was an app for language translation and a product for assisting medical casualty along with wearables, we also had a solution for pest management.

After all the intriguing presentations, the teams that took the top spot were:

• Winners: Cognitive social media app to assist Car Purchase by Balaji Hari & Senthilkumar M
• Runners up: Multi-channel engagement model for B2B & B2C collaboration with Zero UI by Ashish Kumar Dubey & Saurav Kumar

The event also witnessed an overwhelming interest in the Bluemix platform and was followed by an IBM Bluemix Day Workshop which covered some demos and best practices of Bluemix platform.
