Case Study – Implementation of PeopleSoft Test Framework (PTF) for the State of Indiana

State of Indiana [SOI] has chosen PTF tool for creating PeopleSoft (PS) Financials End-to-End [E2E] regression test suite, since PTF has many features that best suits for PS test automation. The major challenges faced by SOI were creation of PTF scripts for a Business Process [BP] that spans across PS modules and executing multiple iterations of test data for the same BP. This is to convert 261 manual test cases to 24 PTF automated E2E BPs across GL, CC, AP, AR, AM, TE, BI, P&I modules. Hexaware solution is to address these challenges by creating single PTF test script for each BP that handles entire E2E scenario with multi-level approvals and cross-module data interactions. Hexaware IP Tool – PTF Sequencer was deployed that can execute multiple iterations of test data for same E2E test scenarios. This solution helped State of Indiana Client to move manual regression suite to automation that has reduced the overall regression testing efforts and taking care of pain areas.
