Accelerated Oracle Exadata to Azure SQL Data Warehouse Migration using Hexaware’s AMAZE™ for Data & AI Platform

Accelerated Oracle Exadata to Azure SQL Data Warehouse Migration using Hexaware’s AMAZE™ for Data & AI Platform

Our client, who is a leading insurance provider in Belgium, was facing issues with their existing on-premise Oracle Exadata Data Warehouse. It was reaching its capacity threshold and hence, wasn’t sufficiently managing massive data volumes. Moreover, the cost of maintaining the legacy DW appliance was very high, eventually catapulting the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

As Hexaware was chosen as a partner for the task of Oracle Exadata migration, we proposed using Microsoft Azure data service components to achieve agility and cost effectiveness. The solution involved extracting data from various sources and external partners using Azure Data Factory. Azure SQL Data Warehouse was selected as the new Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and this significantly augmented the client’s dashboarding and reporting capabilities.

Leveraging our automated AMAZETM for Data & AI, we accelerated the entire process of migration from Oracle Exadata to Azure Cloud, while saving costs and efforts and minimizing downtime.

Some of the remarkable business benefits that the client achieved were:

  • 40% reduction in TCO of EDW landscape
  • 60% savings in time and efforts due to automation-based approach
  • Improvement in dashboarding and reporting capabilities
  • Rapid cloud migration in just 12 months

Discover how Hexaware’s automation-based approach helped a leading European insurer improve operations and save costs, in our detailed case study.
