Why you should worry?
Windows Server 2008 is retiring.
Why you shouldn’t?
There is a way forward.
What is happening?
Microsoft will be ending support for Windows Server 2008 on January 14th, 2020. This means that Microsoft will no longer be producing security updates and you will no longer be able to patch your workloads on these operating systems.
What are the risks?
- No security updates
- Compliance concerns
- Increased cost of maintenance
- Competitive disadvantage
What can you do?
There is ample time to prepare and plan ahead for the End Of Support of the servers. This is a good opportunity to review and assess not just from the Windows Server 2008 End of Support perspective, but your entire strategy. This can prove to be the start of something better.
- Rehost
- Containerize / Rebuild
- Upgrade On-Premise
